Get support from a community chaplain
Chaplains are equipped with skills in pastoral care and theological training. They minister to people facing deeply distressing and traumatic situations, enabling them to better cope with periods of instability. A community chaplain from Chaplaincy Australia can meet with you, listen to your life’s struggles, and refer you to professional support services.

The City of Salisbury has partnered with Bike SA to get the community excited about cycling.
Heart Foundation Walking Groups
The Heart Foundation has a large community with several walking groups around the Salisbury area at different times of the week.
A child and parenting centre based at Ingle Farm Primary School. The centre brings together a range of support programs for families, including parenting courses, home visiting, mobile creche, emergency relief and financial counselling, men’s support and other age/interest groups.
Salisbury Family Hub
The Salisbury Primary Family Hub is a welcoming place for families to connect, share and learn together, and create stronger communities. It runs playgroups, English classes, sewing sessions and cultural and family support groups.
Digital Literacy and Technology Programs
The City of Salisbury has a range of programs designed to help people connect and thrive online. Sessions include technology courses, seminars on various topics and practical small group or one-on-one sessions on digital basics with an experienced facilitator.

Things to do
Parkrun is a weekly five-kilometre timed community group run or walk. Coordinated by volunteers, the event is open to everyone and is free to participate.
Salisbury Community Fun Day (formerly Salisbury Plays) is the City of Salisbury’s initiative to head outside and discover the many parks and reserves in the community.
Parafield Farmers’ Market is open every Saturday 8.00am to 1.00pm with low prices for fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, bread, cakes, flowers, plants and gifts.
Located at Globe Derby Park, the Globe Derby Markets offer a great range of fresh produce, new and pre-loved clothing and accessories from a wide range of stallholders. Open every Sunday 9.00am until 2.00pm.
Greenfields Wetlands cover more than 114 hectares. Discover some of the 160 reported bird species, frogs, fish or fauna onsite. Guided tours are available for community groups but need to be booked in advance.
Paralowie Garden is a gardening club, which also runs gardening workshops and groups for adults over 50.
Nature Play – Stories in the Garden at the Para Hills Community Hub Garden is for children aged 0–5 years. The weekly sessions feature songs and stories followed by guided nature play activities.
The Little Bang Discovery Club science program is suitable for children aged four to seven years. It’s free and is delivered online.
Every Saturday during winter in the Salisbury Community Hub, the City of Salisbury hosts free fun activities or entertainment from 11.00am to 2.00pm.
This park is a fantastic introduction to the bush, a peaceful place to unwind from city life, a popular destination for walkers, and an adventure for budding mountain bike riders. There’s also BBQ facilities, a picnic area and an adventure playground.
