Get support from a community chaplain
Chaplains are equipped with skills in pastoral care and theological training. They minister to people facing deeply distressing and traumatic situations, enabling them to better cope with periods of instability. A community chaplain from Chaplaincy Australia can meet with you, listen to your life’s struggles, and refer you to professional support services.
Wellbeing
The Playford Wellbeing Hub delivers a range of programs and services to support community physical, social and mental health and wellbeing. Activities include ‘come and try sports’ at the John McVeity Centre, gardening and cooking programs, open days, art projects and other activities at The Precinct, which supports social and community connectedness.
The Precinct is part of the Playford Wellbeing Hub. Some of the things on offer include:

Stebonheath parkrun
A weekly 5-kilometre timed community group run or walk. Coordinated by volunteers, the event is open to everyone and is free to participate in.
Playford Writer's Group
Fortnightly group session where you can build your skills, connect to a writer’s community and hear from special guests in the writer community.
STEAM Hub
Library STEAM Hub programs and hardware available at your fingertips. Programs and courses are available to the Playford community, organisations and schools, for ages 10+ years to adults.
Curtis Wetlands
The wetlands include walking trails, a playground, a large grassed area and a picnic shelter.
Geocaching
Geocaching is a fun outdoor treasure hunting game that anyone with a GPS device or smartphone can play. Join in, have fun, get some exercise, and see what you can find!

Op shop, a drop-in afternoon with games and snacks for years 6 to 12; skatepark meeting with free food and snacks; Friday youth for years 6 to 12 with dinner, games and chats.
Fremont Park
Located near the Elizabeth City Centre, this picturesque park features a large lake with a fountain and waterfalls, two playgrounds, including all-ability play equipment, a basketball court, an exercise gym, a gazebo and plenty of shady green spaces.
Maggie Moo Music Playgroup
A morning of music, songs, dance and more at our Elizabeth Rise Community Centre’s free playgroup, perfect for 0−5 years. No bookings required; Thursdays 9.30am or 10.30am.
