Things to do
Borrow a wide range of sports and recreational equipment at the City of Okaparinga’s Aldinga, Hub, Seaford and Woodcroft libraries.
Through a suite of mobile games, existing playground equipment can be transformed into fun obstacle courses, treasure hunts and team challenges. Held at Thalassa Park in Aberfoyle Park.
Magical Park is a new game technology at Wilfred Taylor Reserve, Morphett Vale, aimed at getting children physically active using geospatial augmented reality to turn a green space into a digital fantasy world.
A friendly group of local writers gather to share, discuss and encourage writing, run by the Woodcroft Morphett Vale Neighbourhood Centre, $5
Libraries around Onkaparinga offer toy or sports library services for children. There are no charges for borrowing from these libraries; all you need is your library card.
Wilfred Taylor Reserve has sheltered barbecue areas, a walking trail along Christie Creek and is dog-friendly with a dog obstacle course. On the second and fourth Sundays of the month, there are train rides for $8 (children under 2 for free).
Libraries around Onkaparinga hold regular storytime events for young children where there’s singing, dancing and reading.
Join the group at the Noarlunga Library for a relaxed afternoon of book chatter in the Reading Cafe to discuss what you’re reading.
This is an awesome day out for kids both big and small to enjoy a fantastic playground built by the community for the community, with multiple barbecue and picnic facilities and a small junior playground for the little ones.
Aberfoyle Community Centre runs the ‘Happy snippers‘ and ‘Sit & Sow‘ social craft groups.
