Get support from a community chaplain

Chaplains are equipped with skills in pastoral care and theological training. They minister to people facing deeply distressing and traumatic situations, enabling them to better cope with periods of instability. Heart Foundation Walking Groups
This free community initiative uses local volunteer organisers to lead small groups of people on walks in their local area. Walks are scheduled on regular basis and are conducted in a fun, supportive and social atmosphere.

Parkrun is a weekly five-kilometre timed community group run or walk. Coordinated by volunteers, the event is open to everyone and is free to participate.

There are many national parks and conservation parks across the Onkaparinga region to immerse yourself in nature through walking, fishing, wildlife watching, bike riding and kayaking, including the Onkaparinga River National Park, Onkaparinga River Recreation Park, Moana Sands Conservation Park and Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park.

Basic English Skills Training – B.E.S.T.
B.E.S.T. is a fun and welcoming program run by the Woodcroft Morphett Vale Neighbourhood Centre. It is for anyone who wants to improve or practise their English speaking, writing or reading, and includes reading, maths, spelling, writing and computers.

Aberfoyle Community Centre English language and literacy support
Assisted adult community learning in English language and literacy support is provided through individual and small group tuition by volunteer tutors within a friendly community setting.

Willunga Environment Centre
The Willunga Environment Centre is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to encourage and support the community to achieve environmental, social and economic sustainability in the Willunga Basin and surrounding areas. Smart Playground Adventures

Through a suite of mobile games, existing playground equipment can be transformed into fun obstacle courses, treasure hunts and team challenges. Held at Thalassa Park in Aberfoyle Park.

Magical Park

Magical Park is a new game technology at Wilfred Taylor Reserve, Morphett Vale, aimed at getting children physically active using geospatial augmented reality to turn a green space into a digital fantasy world.

Aberfoyle Community Garden is where you can grow fresh produce and build a sense of community through gardening together. It is free to join and all ages and levels of experience are welcome.
Wilfred Taylor Reserve

Wilfred Taylor Reserve has sheltered barbecue areas, a walking trail along Christie Creek and is dog-friendly with a dog obstacle course. On the second and fourth Sundays of the month, there are train rides for $8 (children under 2 for free).

Hub Movie Club
Enjoy fortnight, the Hub Library in Aberfoyle Park holds movie sessions featuring late release quality films for all ages – bookings are essential due to numbers.
