What is Affordable Housing?

The Affordable Housing program is a SA State Government program providing housing with the rent no higher than 74.9% of the market rent. Cornerstone Housing manages housing in the Adelaide CBD, Balaklava and Lyndoch (Cornerstone Owned) under the Affordable Housing banner.

Basic Eligibility

To be eligible for any affordable housing in South Australia, the weekly rent for the property you are applying for cannot be more than 30% of your weekly income.

To be eligible for Affordable Housing in the Adelaide CBD, you must, in addition:

  • Be aged between 18 and 30 years
  • Earn between $26,000 and $39,000 gross per year
  • Work or study within the Adelaide CBD or North Adelaide

To be eligible for Affordable Housing in Lyndoch, you must, in addition meet the Additional Eligibility Criteria (Income, Assets and Needs Tests).
